This future Centre is located in an old navvy’s hut, associated with the building and maintenance of this section of the Old Road (C-822 or TF-28). Its development and start-up has as its main motivation the reassessment and dissemination of the resources associated with the natural and cultural heritage linked to the rural environment in Candelaria. It will be a visitors’ centre equipped with contents on display which promote the natural and rural environment, as well as acting as a base for the actions which make up the integral development plan for the inland areas of the borough. In turn, it will serve as a meeting place where courses, conferences, activities, workshops and such like, which focus on the country setting, will be held but with special emphasis on themes which aid the improvement in the quality of life of the inhabitants. The buildings conserve their original distribution, with a number of interior spaces, as well as an open-air section made up of courtyards and gardens with local flowers. It is on the Carretera General del Sur (General Southern Road), at kilometre 25 (Icerse, Candelaria).
